Turismo sexual y territorio: el espacio vivido de las sexoservidoras en Veracruz-Boca del Río

La imagen turística predominante del área urbana Veracruz-Boca del Río descansa en sus atractivos físicos, culturales, históricos y su función portuaria, y no tanto en aspecto sexuales; sin embargo, aunque soterrada, este corredor turístico tiene una dinámica significativa de turismo sexual, derivada de la liminalidad que le imprimen los espacios turísticos litorales y la propia algarabía local. Así, este estudio analiza, desde una perspectiva geográfica de base cualitativa —centrada en la observación no participante y participante, así como en entrevistas a profundidad—, la forma en que las mujeres sexoservidoras —cisgénero y transgénero—se apropian, organizan, transforman y perciben el territorio, en el contexto de la dinámica turística local. En este trabajo, el fenómeno del turismo sexual se reconoce a partir de que las sexoservidoras identifican que algunos de sus clientes son turistas o visitantes a Veracruz-Boca del Río; además, desde su perspectiva del espacio vivido, se explora el fenómeno del turismo sexual.
