Turismo y eventos culturales: la Fiesta de la Flor en la isla de Madeira y las motivaciones de los turistas

Os eventos culturais desempenham um papel essencial no contexto social, cultural, político e económico de um país ou de uma região. No turismo, eles surgem como uma ‘arma’ para identificar ou posicionar um destino, captar mais turistas, melhorar a imagem do lugar ou combater a sazonalidade. As motivações para participar num evento cultural são múltiplas e dependem da natureza do evento. O presente artigo pretende identificar e analisar as duas principais motivações dos turistas para visitarem a Festa da Flor na Ilha da Madeira, bem como a sua intenção de comportamento futuro. Para atingir o objetivo optou-se pela aplicação de um inquérito por questionário através de uma amostra por conveniência. Os resultados mostraram que as duas principais motivações para a maioria dos inquiridos, que visitaram o evento pela primeira vez, estavam associadas ao ‘conhecer a cultura da festa’ e à ‘participação num evento especial’. Para a maioria dos turistas em visita repetida, as duas principais motivações estavam relacionadas com os ‘aspetos culturais do evento’ e ao ‘ambiente da festa’.Financiación
